Wavy Lines
I "fell about" as my friend Jilly would say, over these terrific glass pieces at the Pepper Place Market recently. Designed by artist Amy Soverow at The Glass Studio, they are enamel fused to glass. They are part of a series, " Life is Non-Linear". Amy explains, "I did this series when my Dad was dying of cancer. Wavy lines on a wavy form remind me that life has a way of throwing curves at you." I think this is a fitting tribute to her Dad, because it is so full of life! I love them even more now!
FROM SNAPSHOTS TO PHOTOGRAPHS
My next series of five two hour classes will be starting again soon. For those in the Birmingham AL area, contact me for more details. These classes are designed for the amateur photographer who wants to improve their vacation and family photos!
DISCOVERING THE MAGIC
For the more experienced photographers out there, I have a new class starting in September that will focus on creative ways to photograph our city!

Well I use the phrase 'fell about' in terms of laughter. To fall about with laughter. So I'd not fall about these. I'd be in awe. They are just beautiful, Virginia and I love the artist's reason for making them.

Very colorful. What a nice explanation of the artist's motivation.

At least life is throwing colorful curves in these pieces!

What am I thinking? When I first saw the glasses, I thought they were backs of beach chairs! The beach; that's where I should be today.

Aren't these great??? I'm glad you all liked them as much as I did.
Daryl,
I am still laughing at Toonman's feature on your blog today!
Jilly,
Well I knew that but decided I'd add another definition to your term! It just seems to fit. :)

Tell this artist she is brilliant! Art is a great way to cope with death and dying-- and can really make us creative.
I'm still laughing about your "KM don't need no Levitra" comment! Our blog was sabotaged by "Viagra without Prescription" this summer. Sometimes they even get past word verification!

Amy Soverow a fait un travail magnifique sur le verre ! C'est joyeux malgré la mort de son père!

Pretty, cheerful. Nice background story. I wouldn't have seen the cancer connection. Threw me for a curve

I feel connected to you in a non-linear (see your Aug. 17th post) sort of way. I agree that Clifton is a charming neighborhood; our son lived there for a few months when he briefly attended the Cincinnati Conservatory (he withdrew and later went to the Eastman School in Rochester, NY). It was the only part of Cincinnati I liked. There's also the fact that our daughter and son-in-law live in your fair county. I myself am in the mountains of north Georgia.
